Yes, I’ve seen it twice now and I’m trying to find time to blog properly.

I did try to comment on your blog entry on the film, but for some reason none of my attempts to comment have been successful. I’ve tried using various IDs but none work. Not sure if it is me at fault. Anyone else having problems?

Glad you like Self-Made Hero. I think your problem could be the background material students might need on France under the Germans.

I might use this with my AS film students in June when they begin looking at world cinema for the first time. I saw ‘A Self-Made Hero’ a few weeks back for the first time on DVD and I would agree, it is one of the key French films of the 90s. It is Audiard’s most accessible film – have you had a chance to see ‘A Prophet’ yet, would love to hear your take on it?
