However, I found it rather conventional both in plot and style. The director cites Bicycle Thieves as an important influence. However the camera shots and editing are very like mainstream films: at several points I thought a long take would add to ones sense of the action. I noted that the producer is from Television and that may have had an effect.
The resolution also feels coventional. I think Roy is right about the central performance, which to a degree carries the film. One film with which it shares parallels is the Iranian Offside, but I thought the latter was more advenrurous in the way it presented its story.
