Thanks a lot for your answer and ideas! All the Best
]]>The short answer is no, I don’t know about any specific writers specialising in writing about documentary along the lines you are interested in. That doesn’t mean that they don’t exist, only that I don’t know of them. Film scholars tend to specialise and I’m sure there are some who cover documentary as part of a regional specialism and there will be others interested in film and media studies and climate change, de-forestation etc. Yet others will be interested in indigenous cinemas. My starting point tends to be the films themselves.
I would suggest that as well as searching for book titles using the terms documentary, indigenous cinema etc., you look at the programmes and commentaries associated with film festivals taking documentary or green politics as their specialisms. You can also check out the green campaigning organisations themselves – sometimes their magazines or websites will carry essays or reviews about documentary films. I’m sure you have probably already done this, but if not it might help get you started. Good luck!
]]>I am looking for the expertise of you. Could you recomment me an author who’s writing about documentary films from the global south theming nature, environmental destruction and climate change? At best also but indigenous perspectives on this topic…
All the Best
